Types of Galas

There are different types of galas swimmers enter dependant on age and experience

  • Mini Meets – for younger less experienced children. Lots of fun swimming short distances of 25m and 50m.  Judges will offer support and guidance on technique and infringements rather than disqualifying.

Gala kit requirements


Gala Nutrition

Children should bring plenty healthy snacks and drinks with them to galas.  Cereal bars, bananas and other fruit (fresh and dried). Jelly and jellied sweets are good.  Sandwiches and pasta are good at lunchtime for all day events.  Water, diluting juice are the best options for drinks.

Please avoid chocolate, crisps and certainly no fizzy drinks.
